Punjab Police carried out a large-scale and well-planned search operation in the Sujanpur area of Pathankot on Friday, creating a heightened security atmosphere across the region.
The special operation, conducted under ‘Operation CASO’, was led by DIG Harmanveer Singh Gill and involved more than 150 police personnel. Several sensitive locations in Sujanpur were simultaneously cordoned off, and search operations were conducted at the residences of suspected individuals.
During the operation, police detained seven suspected drug traffickers for questioning. Officials stated that interrogation is ongoing and further disclosures are expected in the coming days.
Speaking to the media, DIG Harmanveer Singh Gill said the operation was carried out as per directions issued by the Punjab Director General of Police (DGP). He emphasized that such drives would continue as part of the intensified campaign against drug trafficking in the state.
SSP Pathankot Daljinder Singh Dhillon and his team were also present at the site, supervising the entire operation. Police officials confirmed that thorough searches were conducted at all identified locations and similar actions will continue in the future.
The operation once again signals the Punjab Police’s intensified crackdown against narcotics. Authorities also appealed to citizens to cooperate by sharing information related to drug trafficking to help eliminate the menace collectively.
