Punjab Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO Interacts With Public, Launches Road Project in Jandiala Guru

ETO Launches Road Project, Reviews Punjab Govt Achievements

Jandiala Guru: Marking four years of the Punjab Government, Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO held direct public interaction programs across villages including Thathian, Fatehpur Rajputan, Najowali, Cheena Patti, and Khankot in the Jandiala constituency. During the visits, he shared details about the government’s development works and major achievements over the past four years.

On the occasion, the Cabinet Minister inaugurated the special repair work of the Thathian–Sukhewal road, which will be constructed at a cost of ₹27.88 lakh. The road project, covering a total length of 1.45 kilometers, has already been allotted to a contractor and is expected to be completed within six months. The minister stated that the upgraded road will significantly improve transportation convenience for local residents.

He instructed concerned officials to personally monitor the project and warned that negligence in execution would not be tolerated.

Addressing the gathering, Harbhajan Singh ETO said that for the first time in the country’s history, a state government has introduced health insurance coverage up to ₹10 lakh for its citizens. He added that unlike previous governments that focused on development only during the final year of their tenure, the current administration began fulfilling its promises from the very first year.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government has completed four years marked by significant improvements in healthcare, education, employment, industrial growth, and infrastructure development, he said.

The minister highlighted key initiatives, including:

  • Free treatment facility up to ₹10 lakh under the health insurance scheme.
  • Financial assistance of ₹1,000 for women of the general category and ₹1,500 for women belonging to the SC category.
  • Major reforms in government schools with upgraded facilities comparable to private institutions.
  • Creation of large-scale employment opportunities with transparent recruitment processes.
  • A strong anti-drug campaign to improve law and order.
  • Infrastructure strengthening through road renewal, bridge construction, and major development projects.

He further stated that nearly 90% of households in Punjab are receiving zero electricity bills, providing substantial relief to citizens.

Harbhajan Singh ETO expressed confidence that under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s leadership, Punjab will continue progressing toward prosperity and development in the coming years.

Several local leaders, village sarpanches, and a large number of residents were present during the events.
