Punjab & Haryana High Court Grants Relief to Singer Badshah in Tateeree Song Case

HC Grants Relief to Badshah in Tateeree Song Case

Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted major relief to popular singer Badshah in connection with the controversy surrounding his Haryanvi song Tateeree.

The High Court has stayed the singer’s arrest until further orders, providing temporary protection from police action in the case. Multiple FIRs had been registered against Badshah in various locations across Haryana, including Panchkula and Jind, alleging the use of objectionable lyrics and visuals depicting women and minor girls in school uniforms.

Earlier, the Haryana State Commission for Women had issued directions seeking his arrest and passport seizure after he failed to appear before the commission during the inquiry.

Following the growing controversy, Badshah publicly apologised and removed the song from all social media platforms. The court’s interim relief now shields the singer from immediate arrest while legal proceedings continue.

The case has sparked discussions around artistic freedom, social responsibility, and content regulation in the music industry.
