Punjab Congress Restructures Organization Ahead of Elections, Announces New District and Block Leaders

Punjab Congress Announces Major Org Restructuring

Chandigarh: Political activity has intensified in Punjab ahead of upcoming elections, with the Indian National Congress launching a major organizational restructuring drive to strengthen its grassroots presence across the state.

Under the leadership of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, the party has announced executive committees for 10 districts along with the appointment of 95 block presidents.

This move is being seen as part of the party’s broader strategy to rebuild and strengthen its organizational structure at the ground level ahead of the elections.

Previously, the party had already announced district presidents for eight key districts, indicating a phased approach toward strengthening its statewide network.

In the latest announcement, executive committees have been formed in important districts including Nawanshahr, Fatehgarh Sahib, Jalandhar Rural, Bathinda Urban, Mohali, Gurdaspur, Ropar, and Khanna. Party leaders have been assigned responsibilities to improve local-level coordination and strengthen field performance.

At the block level, the Congress has created significant momentum by appointing 95 block presidents out of 199 blocks. Notably, Ludhiana district alone has received 15 block presidents, highlighting its political importance in the state.

Party sources said the restructuring exercise is aimed at strengthening the organization from the grassroots level so that the Congress can enter the upcoming elections with a stronger and more coordinated setup.

Political analysts believe that a strong district and block-level structure directly influences electoral performance, making this organizational overhaul a crucial strategic move.

With this development, the Punjab Congress appears to be intensifying its preparations and focusing on building a stronger ground presence ahead of the electoral battle.
