The Youth Services and Sports Department of Himachal Pradesh has initiated an inquiry into alleged irregularities in the Himachal kabaddi selection process for the Senior National Kabaddi Championship. The action was taken following directions from Youth Services and Sports Minister Yadvinder Goma.
The department has constituted a preliminary fact-finding committee after receiving complaints from Prit Singh Chandel and Sanjeev Kumar. The complainants accused officials of the Kabaddi association of manipulation and irregularities during the selection process.
The committee comprises the Additional Director of Youth Services and Sports as the chairperson, along with the District Youth Services and Sports Officer (Headquarters) and a senior Kabaddi coach from the department.
The committee has been instructed to submit its report within 15 days. It will examine all aspects of the complaint, including reviewing selection records, procedures, and established standards.
As part of the investigation, the committee will interact with the complainants, selectors, and concerned officials to assess whether proper protocols were followed. Based on its findings, the panel will submit a detailed factual report along with recommendations for further action.
