President Murmu’s Six-Day Odisha Homecoming Kicks Off Today

President Droupadi Murmu begins a six-day visit to her home state Odisha today, arriving in Bhubaneswar this evening for official, academic, and cultural events across Khordha, Jajpur, Balasore, Puri, and Mayurbhanj districts.

Packed Itinerary

Tomorrow, she offers prayers at Maa Biraja Temple in Jajpur, performs Navi Gaya rituals, and graces Fakir Mohan University’s 12th convocation in Balasore as chief guest before evening darshan at Puri’s Shree Jagannath Temple. Wednesday focuses on Mayurbhanj: inaugurating a Rairangpur holiday home, visiting a girls’ school, unveiling tribal leader Bhanjbir Sunaram Soren’s statue, and opening a sports complex.

Thursday brings a Rairangpur Jagannath Temple event and Simlipal National Park tour. On February 6, she meets tribal women and youth, attends Bhubaneswar’s Black Swan Summit India, then heads to Chhattisgarh on the 7th. The visit blends spiritual, educational, and developmental highlights in her native region.
