President Murmu to Launch Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana at IGI Stadium

Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana Launched

President Droupadi Murmu will launch the Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana today at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in the national capital, marking a major step toward strengthening financial support for girl children in Delhi.

The new scheme is an expanded and restructured version of the existing Ladli Scheme, aimed at enhancing financial assistance and broadening its long-term vision.

Under the earlier Ladli Scheme framework, ₹11,000 was deposited in the name of each eligible girl child in case of an institutional birth, and ₹10,000 for home births. Additionally, ₹5,000 was provided at key educational milestones — admission to Classes 1, 6, and 9, passing Class 10, and admission to Class 12.

According to the Delhi government, the revised Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana significantly enhances both financial benefits and its overall empowerment goals.

The scheme will be available to families with an annual income not exceeding ₹1.20 lakh and who have been residing in Delhi for at least three years. The girl child must have been born in Delhi to qualify.

The Chief Minister stated that the initiative draws inspiration from the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which focuses on placing daughters at the center of nation-building through education, dignity, and self-reliance.

The launch of the Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana is expected to strengthen efforts toward girl child welfare, promote education, and encourage financial security for families across the capital.
