Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed that the Central Government is fully committed to ensuring the pride and justice of the Sikh community while addressing the virtual “Hind-di-Chadar” commemorative event held in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai.
The event marked the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur, revered as “Hind-di-Chadar” for his supreme sacrifice in defense of religious freedom.
During his address, the Prime Minister stated, “Our government is fully committed to ensuring the pride and justice of the Sikh community.” He emphasized that this commitment is reflected in the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
Modi said the government is working in mission mode to address long-pending issues. He highlighted that copies of the sacred Guru Granth Sahib (Saroops) were safely brought back from Afghanistan. He also noted that rehabilitation packages have been implemented for Sikh families in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Prime Minister underlined that the Centre remains dedicated to safeguarding Sikh heritage, ensuring justice, and protecting the community’s dignity across the country.
