Germany-Based NRI Killed in Kurukshetra Crash

A tragic road accident in Kurukshetra district claimed the life of a NRI from Germany who had returned to India to attend his brother’s funeral.

The deceased, Gurdeep Singh (60), was driving a Scorpio SUV on the Hisar–Chandigarh National Highway-152 when the vehicle reportedly lost control and crashed into a divider. The impact was so severe that the front portion of the Scorpio was completely damaged, and the vehicle spun nearly 90 degrees after the collision.

NRI Had Come for Brother’s Last Rites

Gurdeep Singh, a native of Satoura village in Pehowa, had arrived from Germany to attend the last rites of his brother, former sarpanch Surjit Singh, who passed away two days earlier.

While returning home after the funeral, the accident occurred. Gurdeep Singh died on the spot, while another villager, Jagwinder Singh, who was accompanying him, sustained injuries.

Surjit Singh’s wife, Surjit Kaur, is currently serving as the village sarpanch.

Police Investigation Underway

Police officials have taken the body into custody and sent it for postmortem examination. An investigation into the cause of the accident has been initiated.

The sudden tragedy has left the village in shock, as the family was already mourning the loss of the former sarpanch.
