National Lok Adalat to Be Held in Amritsar on March 14, 2026

National Lok Adalat on March 14 in Amritsar

The District Legal Services Authority Amritsar will organise the National Lok Adalat on March 14, 2026, to facilitate speedy and amicable settlement of pending cases.

A preparatory meeting in this regard was held under the leadership of Amar Deep Singh Bains, Secretary, DLSA Amritsar. Representatives of major public sector banks and insurance companies participated in the meeting to ensure effective coordination and maximum disposal of eligible cases.

Mr Bains informed that the National Lok Adalat is being organised under the guidance of Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra, Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and Executive Chairman of the Punjab State Legal Services Authority. He added that Justice Rohit Kapoor, Administrative Judge of Sessions Division Amritsar, has been providing continuous guidance for the successful organisation of the Lok Adalat.

He further stated that the dedicated efforts and supervision of District and Sessions Judge Jatinder Kaur have strengthened the preparations for the upcoming National Lok Adalat.

Benefits of National Lok Adalat

Officials highlighted that disputes settled through Lok Adalat are resolved quickly, easily, and without any litigation costs. Decisions are based on mutual consent of the parties and are final and binding, helping litigants avoid prolonged legal procedures.

Cases related to compoundable criminal offences, summary traffic challans, bank recovery matters, electricity bills, family disputes, and motor accident claims can be settled efficiently through the Lok Adalat mechanism.

The public has been urged to bring their pending cases to the National Lok Adalat to avail its benefits. Representatives of banks and insurance companies assured full cooperation and expressed commitment to resolving maximum cases through mutual settlement, thereby reducing court pendency and ensuring timely justice.
