Dharamshala: Shahpur MLA and Deputy Chief Whip Keval Singh Pathania on Friday laid the foundation stones for multiple development projects in Ward No. 1 of Gram Panchayat Sudher under the Shahpur Assembly constituency. The projects include the construction of link roads worth approximately ₹36 lakh aimed at improving rural connectivity.
The MLA inaugurated the construction of a 455-meter-long road from the main link road to Dhar village, being developed at a cost of around ₹33 lakh. Additionally, construction work for another road connecting Gol Daga Wara Kotha to Bhunteganj village, costing nearly ₹3 lakh, was also launched.
These road projects are expected to directly benefit nearly 450 residents by enhancing transportation facilities and improving accessibility in the area.
Addressing locals during the event, Keval Singh Pathania stated that the state government remains committed to strengthening infrastructure in rural areas. He emphasized that roads are the backbone of development, helping accelerate economic and social activities.
During the visit, the MLA interacted with residents of Dhar village and listened to their grievances. He directed concerned departmental officials to ensure the prompt resolution of public issues on a priority basis.
Earlier, he also met residents in Totarani (Ward No. 5) of Gram Panchayat Bhatalla and heard various concerns related to electricity, water supply, roads, irrigation, and other development works. Several issues were resolved on the spot.
Later, the MLA attended a thanksgiving ceremony in Ward No. 5 of Gram Panchayat Kajlot, where local residents expressed gratitude for ongoing development initiatives in the region. He assured people that their remaining concerns would be addressed at the earliest.
Several officials and local representatives, including Dr. Sunanda Pathania (In-charge ATC Shahpur), DFO Dharamshala Amit Sharma, Executive Engineer PWD Chandrashekhar, SDO Electricity Department Ashish Chaudhary, SDO Jal Shakti Department Pankaj Chaudhary, ARO Dharamshala Saurav Sharma, and other dignitaries and residents, were present on the occasion.
