Amritsar, December 23, 2025 – Central Assembly constituency MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta inaugurated development works today in Ward 60, including construction of Chajju Mishra Lane and surrounding alleys, along with revitalization of an old well in the area. Dr. Gupta stated that the lanes were in poor condition, and following residents’ complaints, construction has now begun, promising significant relief once completed.
He highlighted that the walled city once had traditional water wells, now closed, which are being revived under the “Rejuvenation of Wells” scheme as recharge wells. In Chajju Mishra Lane, work on converting a closed well into a recharge well has started, directing rainwater underground to improve groundwater levels and enhance the sewerage system. Future plans include rain water harvesting chambers across the constituency.
Dr. Gupta affirmed the Punjab government is fulfilling promises—promised and unpromised—by daily engaging with people, resolving issues, and initiating development. Improvement Trust trustee Mandeep Singh Monga, ward in-charge Vishal Gill, Mona Madam, Vasu Kumar, Sajan Kumar, Niryani Sharma, municipal corporation officials, and numerous locals attended.
