Massive Devotional Gathering from North Amritsar Under Akshay Sharma’s Initiative — Free Bus Service Flags Off 45 Buses Carrying Over 2,000 Devotees to Fatehgarh Sahib

Paying homage to the immortal sacrifices in Sikh history, a grand free bus service dedicated to the unparalleled martyrdom of the Four Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri Ji was inaugurated today from the North Amritsar constituency under the initiative of Akshay Sharma. On this emotional and historic occasion, Sevadar Akshay Sharma flagged off the first group of devotees traveling from Sri Amritsar Sahib to Sri Fatehgarh Sahib. This special service will continue from December 20 to 27, with new groups leaving daily to attend the Shaheedi Sabha.

On the very first day, the initiative received tremendous public response. Around 2,000 devotees departed for Fatehgarh Sahib aboard 45 buses. The massive participation of the sangat reaffirmed that the martyrdom of Guru Sahib’s sons continues to live in people’s hearts, reminding humanity of the timeless path of truth, courage, and sacrifice.

Speaking on the occasion, Akshay Sharma expressed deep emotion, saying that the martyrdom of the Four Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri Ji is not only a source of pride for the Sikh community but an inspiration for all humanity. He emphasized that this seva (service) transcends religion or caste, aiming instead to pay truthful tribute to the Gurus and to connect the younger generation with their glorious history. “Our goal,” he said, “is to guide today’s youth away from drugs and distractions and back to the values of truth, devotion, and sacrifice shown by the Gurus.”

The journey has been designed not merely as a trip but as an educational and motivational experience. During the four-hour bus ride, passengers are shown films based on the Four Sahibzadas, and historians narrate the stories of their bravery and martyrdom, helping devotees—especially students—deepen their understanding and internalize these lessons.

For the devotees’ convenience and safety, special arrangements have been made, including ambulances, medical aid, food, seating, and time-bound coordination. The entire yatra is being conducted with discipline and a spirit of dedicated service.

Expressing heartfelt gratitude, Akshay Sharma said that the faith and devotion shown by the people are his greatest strength. He urged the devotees not to treat the pilgrimage as a mere visit but to draw inspiration from the Gurus’ sacrifice and embody truth, service, and humanity in their daily lives.

A large number of devotees, local volunteers, social workers, and youth took part in the event, making it a memorable moment in devotion and history. On this occasion, BJP leaders Taranjit Singh Sandhu and Pappu Mahajan were also present and paid their respects at the holy shrine.
