Amritsar: Thousands of devotees gathered at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Gurdwara Santokhsar Sahib, and Gurdwara Ramsar Sahib to pay homage and celebrate the Prakash Gurpurab of the Fifth Guru, Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji. The celebrations reflected deep devotion and reverence, with the congregation participating in sacred rituals and kirtan.
On this auspicious occasion, the SGPC sevak jatha, along with devotees, performed the Bhog of Shri Akhand Path Sahib at Gurdwara Santokhsar Sahib. Following the completion of the Akhand Path, Granthi Singh Sahib Giani Balwinder Singh delivered a spiritual discourse, highlighting the life history and teachings of Guru Arjan Dev Ji.
SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami extended greetings to the congregation, stating that Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s life serves as a beacon of humanity. He emphasized the Guru’s contributions, including commissioning the sacred form of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, and encouraged devotees to draw inspiration from his life and follow the teachings of Gurbani.
Divine displays were also set up at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Sri Akal Takht Sahib, and Gurdwara Baba Atal Rai Sahib. During the Gurmat program at Gurdwara Santokhsar Sahib, ragis from Harmandir Sahib performed kirtan, and renowned preachers shared stories of the Guru’s life with the congregation.
Prominent attendees included Giani Kewal Singh, Mangvinder Singh Khaparkheri, Bibi Harjinder Kaur, Surjit Singh Bhittewad, Satbir Singh, Balwinder Singh Kahlwan, Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, Shahbaz Singh, Harbhajan Singh Vakta, and other SGPC members and sevaks, reflecting the strong organizational support for the celebrations.
The event reaffirmed the deep spiritual connection of devotees with Guru Arjan Dev Ji and the importance of following his teachings to foster faith, compassion, and community harmony.
