Brarjinder Singh “Makhan” Brar, son of late Shiromani Akali Dal leader Jathedar Tota Singh, is set to rejoin the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) today, marking his political return to the party.
According to party sources, Makhan Brar will formally rejoin the Shiromani Akali Dal in the presence of party president Sukhbir Singh Badal at the latter’s residence in Badal village later this morning.
The development comes just three days after Brar resigned from the primary membership and all party positions of Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt/Surjit faction), signaling a significant political shift ahead of upcoming political activities in Punjab.
Makhan Brar has remained a known political figure due to his association with the legacy of his father, the late Jathedar Tota Singh, a prominent Akali leader.
Political observers view his return as an important development within Punjab’s regional political landscape, potentially strengthening the party’s organizational structure.
An official announcement is expected following the joining ceremony.
