Livasa Hospital Launches Weekly OPD and Free Cancer Consultation Camp in Amritsar

Livasa Hospital Starts Weekly Cancer OPD

Livasa Hospital has launched a weekly Outpatient Department (OPD) service to strengthen cancer care access in the region. The OPD will be held every Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, offering specialized oncology consultations.

The hospital announced that Dr. Jatin Sarin, Director – Medical Oncology, Dr. Meenakshi Mittal, Director – Radiation Oncology, and Dr. Vijay Bansal, Director – Surgical Oncology, will be available during the weekly OPD hours to provide expert consultations and treatment guidance.

To mark the launch, the hospital also organized a free oncology consultation camp aimed at spreading awareness about early cancer detection. During a press conference, Dr. Jatin Sarin emphasized that symptoms such as unexplained weight loss, persistent fatigue, lumps or swelling, abnormal bleeding, blood in stool or urine, and non-healing wounds should not be ignored. He highlighted that early diagnosis significantly improves survival rates and treatment success.

Dr. Meenakshi Mittal explained that modern oncology offers highly advanced and precise treatment options. However, she stressed that outcomes are most effective when cancer is detected at an early stage, making regular screening and awareness crucial.

Dr. Vijay Bansal added that surgery, when performed at the appropriate stage, can be curative for many types of cancer.

With the introduction of the weekly OPD and awareness initiatives, Livasa Hospital aims to provide accessible and comprehensive cancer care services to patients in Amritsar and surrounding areas.
