Amritsar: Khalsa University has launched a new digital admission portal aimed at making the student enrollment process completely online, transparent, and convenient. The initiative allows students to apply for more than 200 courses across various disciplines from the comfort of their homes.
The announcement was made by Pro-Chancellor of Khalsa University and Honorary Secretary of the Khalsa College Governing Council, S. Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, during the official launch of the portal at the university campus.
Speaking on the occasion, Chhina described the platform as a significant step toward digital education, emphasizing that the management has consistently worked to provide educational facilities to students and parents through accessible online systems.
The modern admission portal has been developed by the university’s IT team under the leadership of Registrar Dr. Khushwinder Kumar and Director of Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology, Ranjit Avenue, Dr. Manju Bala. The system is expected to benefit both students and administrative staff by simplifying admission procedures.
Through the portal, students can access course information, complete registrations, upload required documents, and submit fees online from anywhere in the country. The platform also provides real-time updates, application status tracking, deadline alerts, and instant notifications regarding results and admission progress.
University officials highlighted several advantages of the system, including reduced paperwork, automated processing, secure data management, minimized human errors, and lower administrative and printing costs. The portal also enables bulk email notifications and alerts for applicants while promoting an environmentally friendly and transparent admission process.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mehal Singh and Dean Academic Affairs Dr. Surinder Kaur stated that the university remains committed to adopting modern technology to enhance student services and administrative efficiency. They encouraged students to utilize the online system and submit applications within the prescribed timelines.
Director (Research) Dr. R.K. Dhawan added that the portal has been developed in accordance with UGC guidelines, with special focus on simplifying research-based PhD admissions and expanding digital academic services in the future.
Several university officials, including deans, directors, administrative staff, and IT team members, were present during the launch ceremony.
University authorities said more services will soon be integrated into the platform to provide students with a unified digital experience for academic processes.
