Kangana Ranaut Targets Rahul Gandhi, Sparks Political Row with ‘Tapori’ Remark

Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Tapori’ Remark on Rahul Gandhi Row

New Delhi: BJP MP and Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, calling him a “tapori” (joker) and alleging that women feel uncomfortable around him inside the Parliament complex.

Speaking to the media within the Parliament premises, Ranaut claimed that several women MPs feel uneasy due to Gandhi’s behavior. She alleged that he addresses people informally and interrupts media interactions with hooting remarks, which she described as inappropriate conduct.

The BJP MP further suggested that Rahul Gandhi should observe the conduct of his sister, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, whom she praised for maintaining what she called a more dignified public demeanor. Ranaut added that Gandhi’s actions often become a source of embarrassment.

The comments quickly triggered strong political reactions. Congress leaders and supporters criticized Ranaut’s remarks, calling them unnecessary personal attacks and accusing her of lowering political discourse. Meanwhile, BJP supporters defended the statement as a political opinion expressed amid ongoing ideological clashes.

The controversy comes at a time when Rahul Gandhi has been actively criticizing the central government on multiple national issues, contributing to an already heated political atmosphere. Ranaut’s remarks have further intensified debates across political circles and social media platforms, with supporters and critics voicing sharply divided opinions.
