Jammu Police Crack Down: Two Men Booked for Waving Pistol in Public, Arms Seized in BSF Joint Op

Jammu Police’s South Zone team swung into action after a tip-off, filing charges against two men caught brandishing a pistol in a crowded area. The incident, which sparked widespread fear among residents, prompted a swift joint operation with the 13th Battalion of the BSF.

The suspects—Manzoor Hussain, son of Noor Hussain from Badhori in Samba’s Bari Brahmana tehsil, and Suraj, son of Om Parkash from the same village—were reportedly strutting around openly with the weapon, alarming locals and disrupting peace in the Satwari police station area.

Acting on reliable intelligence, officers from Police Station Satwari and BSF personnel nabbed the duo on the spot. Authorities registered FIR No. 249/2025 under Section 3/25 of the Arms Act to pursue legal action.

A search turned up one real pistol with two magazines, plus a fake toy pistol the men allegedly used to intimidate people. Police emphasized that flaunting illegal firearms in public endangers lives and community safety, vowing stricter vigilance to prevent such threats.

Investigations continue as Jammu Police reassure the public of their commitment to maintaining order.
