The conflict in West Asia- Iran-US-Israel has intensified dramatically as Iran and the joint forces of the United States and Israel launched a fresh wave of missile and drone attacks across the region.
Iran and Iran-backed militias targeted US assets in Gulf nations including the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Bahrain, following the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other senior officials. In response, the US and Israel carried out large-scale strikes on Iranian military and strategic targets.
US President Donald Trump claimed that nine Iranian warships were sunk and that Iran’s naval headquarters had been largely destroyed. The US military confirmed that B-2 stealth bombers struck Iran’s ballistic missile facilities using heavy bunker-buster bombs.
Meanwhile, Oman’s Maritime Security Centre reported that an oil tanker was attacked by an explosive-laden boat 52 nautical miles off Muscat. One crew member was killed, while 21 others were evacuated after a fire broke out in the engine room.
Qatar confirmed two missile strikes on energy-related sites but reported no casualties. Saudi Arabia intercepted drones targeting the Ras Tanura oil refinery and temporarily shut down the facility near Dammam.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations reported that a vessel in the Port of Bahrain was hit by two projectiles, causing a fire onboard, though all crew members were safely evacuated.
Iran’s nuclear facility at Natanz Nuclear Facility was also reportedly struck during US and Israeli operations, according to Iranian officials.
In Lebanon, Hezbollah fired missiles into Israel in response to Khamenei’s killing, prompting Israeli airstrikes on Beirut that reportedly killed 31 people. Israel has shut crossings to Gaza and imposed nationwide restrictions, including bans on gatherings and educational activities.
Britain, France and Germany expressed readiness to coordinate with Washington against Iranian attacks. Jordan announced daily airspace closures, while Cyprus reported limited damage to a British military base from a drone strike.
Amid the escalating hostilities, the World Health Organization called for the protection of civilians and healthcare facilities across the region.
With attacks spreading across the Gulf, energy infrastructure disrupted, and airspaces closing, the Iran-US-Israel conflict risks spiraling into a broader regional war with global economic and security consequences.
