HPNLU Shimla Organizes Webinar on Enhancing Research Visibility Through ORCID

HPNLU Hosts ORCID Research Visibility Webinar

Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU) successfully organized a webinar titled “Enhancing Research Visibility and Using ORCID” on February 21, 2026, under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Preeti Saxena.

The webinar was conducted by the HPNLU Library in collaboration with the Department of Library and Information Science at the Central University of Himachal Pradesh, headed by Prof. Shivram Rao. The event received support from the ORCID Global Participation Fund (GPF).

Dr. Mohit Garg, Assistant Librarian (SS) at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, served as the resource person. The session aimed to equip faculty members, research scholars, and LL.M. students with essential knowledge and practical tools to enhance the visibility and impact of their academic research.

During the interactive session, Dr. Garg highlighted the importance of maintaining a consistent scholarly identity and effectively using ORCID as a unique researcher identifier. He also discussed strategies to improve global discoverability of academic work, including research profiling, citation tracking, and integration of ORCID with major research databases and publication platforms.

The webinar witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, research scholars, and LL.M. students, reflecting HPNLU’s ongoing commitment to strengthening academic visibility and promoting research excellence at both national and international levels.

The event was coordinated by Library In-Charge Praveen Kumar and Organizing Secretary Arun Kumar. The university appreciated the collaborating institution, ORCID GPF, the resource person, and all participants for their valuable contribution to the success of the webinar.
