The death case of internationally renowned bodybuilder and actor Varinder Singh Ghuman has taken a significant turn after a medical report allegedly pointed toward hospital negligence as a possible cause.
According to family sources, the medical findings suggest that negligence at Fortis Hospital Amritsar may have contributed to his untimely demise. The 42-year-old athlete passed away on October 9, 2025, during a surgical procedure at the hospital.
Ghuman had been admitted for shoulder treatment and was undergoing an arthroscopic rotator cuff repair surgery. However, during the operation, he reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest. Hospital authorities confirmed his death at 3:35 PM, citing cardiac arrhythmia as the cause. Initial reports indicated that the heart attack occurred post-surgery.
Following his death, the family lodged a formal complaint with the Amritsar Police Commissioner on October 17, 2025. After the complaint was filed, a medical board was constituted to investigate the circumstances surrounding the case.
Family members have now announced plans to hold a press conference in the coming days and pursue legal action based on the medical report’s findings. Supporters and fans have also demanded justice, especially after a video surfaced online showing Ghuman appearing healthy and cheerful shortly before the surgery.
The investigation by the medical board is currently underway, and authorities are expected to review the hospital’s procedures and medical protocols followed during the surgery.
Further updates are awaited as the case continues to develop.
