Hindu College Celebrates International Mother Language Day with Competitions

Hindu College Marks Mother Language Day

The Hindi Department of Hindu College celebrated International Mother Language Day with great enthusiasm by organizing various competitions on campus.

The event was conducted under the leadership of College Principal Dr. Rakesh Kumar and Vice Principal Sanjay Khanna, with coordination by Hindi Department Head Dr. Deepti.

On this occasion, Hindi essay writing and painting competitions were organized, in which students participated with remarkable enthusiasm. Addressing the students, the Principal emphasized that Hindi is a powerful language representing India’s cultural heritage and national unity. He highlighted that the growing presence of Hindi in modern media and career opportunities reflects its increasing relevance.

Dr. Deepti, Head of the Hindi Department, stated that Hindi’s popularity is steadily rising at the global level. She encouraged students to actively contribute to its study and promotion.

In the Hindi essay writing competition, Asheema (B.Com First Semester) secured first position, Nancy (B.A Sixth Semester) won second prize, and Harshita (B.A Sixth Semester) achieved third place.

In the painting competition, Sneha (B.A Fourth Semester) secured first position, Shubhneet (Class 11) won second prize, and Jasmine (B.A Second Semester) achieved third place.

Registrar Dr. Vijay Kumar, Deputy Registrar Ritu Jetli, IUPAC Coordinator Dr. J.P. Singh, and Head of Commerce Department Dr. Monica Sharma congratulated the winners and appreciated the efforts of the Hindi Department in successfully organizing the event.

The celebration highlighted the importance of preserving linguistic diversity and promoting Hindi as a language of cultural pride and academic growth.
