Heavy snowfall in the upper areas of Manali has led to severe disruption in traffic movement, prompting authorities to issue a fresh advisory.
According to Kullu Police, all vehicular movement beyond the Solang barrier towards Lahaul-Spiti has been completely suspended until further orders due to slippery roads and hazardous conditions.
Officials stated that travel will only be permitted once weather and road conditions improve. Even then, only 4×4 vehicles equipped with snow chains will be allowed to proceed in restricted areas.
Additionally, Tempo Travellers have been permitted to travel only up to Nehru Kund. Authorities have urged both tourists and locals to avoid unnecessary travel to higher altitudes during this period.
Travelers have been advised that if the journey is absolutely essential, they should carry 4×4 vehicles with snow chains, along with sufficient food supplies and other essentials.
The administration has appealed to the public to strictly follow the guidelines issued by the police and district authorities and exercise caution during the ongoing adverse weather conditions.
