HC Grants Interim Bail to 4 Accused in 328 Saroops Case

HC Grants Interim Bail in 328 Saroops Case

In the case related to 328 missing sacred saroops of Guru Granth Sahib, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted interim bail to four accused.

The High Court accepted the interim bail pleas of the four accused and adjourned the matter for further hearing until April 28. The relief will remain in effect only until the next date of hearing.

The accused granted interim bail include Baj Singh, Kulwant Singh, Gurbachan Singh and Gurmukh Singh.

Earlier, anticipatory bail pleas of several accused had been rejected by lower courts in Amritsar, citing the serious nature of the allegations and the need for custodial interrogation to trace the missing saroops.

It is noteworthy that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Punjab Police began its probe after the FIR was registered on December 7, 2025. The SIT invoked sections 466, 467, 468, and 471 of the IPC in the FIR, which relate to forgery and criminal breach of trust.

The case has drawn significant attention due to the religious and legal sensitivity involved, and further proceedings are awaited in the High Court.
