Punjab Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO has made a strong statement, alleging a threat to his life and naming Congress leader Raja Warring in connection with the threat. Speaking to the media, Harbhajan Singh said that he has received threats to kill him but made it clear that he is not someone who gets intimidated by such warnings.
Reacting sharply to Pratap Bajwa’s controversial “band baja” remark, Harbhajan Singh ETO said that if Bajwa does not issue a public apology, strict action will be initiated. He stated that Bajwa’s comments were not just offensive to an individual but amounted to an insult to the entire Dalit and working-class community.
Harbhajan Singh further said that the positions held by Pratap Bajwa were also granted within the same community, adding that he feels proud to belong to that community. He said Bajwa’s statement has personally hurt him and has challenged the dignity and self-respect of Dalits and labourers.
Targeting Bajwa, the cabinet minister alleged that such statements reflect a mindset that undermines marginalized communities. He asserted that the government will not tolerate derogatory remarks and will ensure accountability if an apology is not forthcoming.
