A golden opportunity has been announced for young boys and girls aspiring to join the Indian Army, as the last date for online registration under the Agniveer Army recruitment scheme has been extended to April 10, 2026.
The announcement was made by Dr. Rupinder Pal Singh, Chief Executive Officer of the District Employment and Business Bureau and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development). He stated that the deadline was extended considering the strong enthusiasm and continuous inquiries from youth interested in joining the armed forces.
Recruitment Rally to Be Held in Amritsar
Officials confirmed that this year’s Agniveer Army recruitment rally will be conducted in Amritsar district. Providing further details, Employment Officer Mukesh Sarangal said the decision aims to provide additional time and convenience to eligible candidates wishing to apply.
Age Limit Increased
In a significant change, the age limit has been increased by one year. Candidates aged between 18 and 22 years are now eligible to apply for the recruitment process.
Applicants must have passed Class 12 and meet the physical fitness standards prescribed by the Indian Army.
Multiple Post Applications Allowed
Candidates will be allowed to apply for two different posts simultaneously, offering greater opportunities for recruitment aspirants. Authorities have urged eligible youth across the district to take advantage of the extended deadline.
Special Quota for Agniveers
Officials also highlighted that Agniveer recruits will benefit from a special reservation quota in various government security forces, including CRPF, BSF, ITBP, and several state police departments. Only former Agniveers will be eligible to apply under this dedicated quota.
