Punjabi singer Gippy Grewal has reportedly received a death threat from gangster Goldy Brar, raising serious concerns over the safety of artists in Punjab.
According to reports, the singer received a threatening phone call, and an alleged audio clip of the conversation has gone viral on social media. However, the authenticity of the audio has not been officially verified.
In the viral clip, the caller can allegedly be heard warning the singer not to ignore the message, threatening consequences including gun violence. The audio also contains remarks targeting Grewal’s film activities, adding to the seriousness of the threat.
Meanwhile, Sukhbir Singh Badal, president of the Shiromani Akali Dal, has strongly criticized the Punjab government over the issue. He expressed concern over the threat to Gippy Grewal and questioned the law and order situation in the state.
Badal alleged that the threat came after the withdrawal of the singer’s security and stated that Punjab is becoming increasingly unsafe. He also referenced the killing of Sidhu Moosewala, highlighting concerns about security lapses.
The incident has once again brought the spotlight on the safety of public figures in Punjab, with calls for stricter action against organized crime and improved security measures.
