Ghaziabad: Three Step-Sisters Die After Jumping from Apartment, Police Probe

Ghaziabad Three Step-Sisters Die After Jumping from Apartment, Police Probe

Tragic new details have emerged in the case of three step-sisters, aged 11, 14, and 16, who died after jumping from the ninth floor of their apartment in Ghaziabad last Wednesday. According to the father, just hours before the incident, the girls were insistent on going to South Korea, claiming that if they were not sent, they “would die.”

Initial reports suggested a possible link to online task-based games, but the Ghaziabad Police have confirmed that so far, no evidence of gaming or related content has been found. Trans-Hindon Zone DCP Nimish Patil stated that the family’s claims are being verified and all angles of the case are under investigation. Examination of the mother’s mobile phone revealed no suspicious messages, calls, or gaming activity.

Police investigations indicate that the girls were deeply influenced by K-pop culture. They spent significant time watching Korean dramas, music, and dance videos, and reportedly even changed their names. The father revealed that the girls had left school around two years ago and consistently spoke about going to South Korea. They had stopped using their Indian names and became upset when discussing Indian culture or topics related to India, sometimes even refusing to eat.

Currently, the police are treating the case as suicide. The father disclosed that two old mobile phones used by the girls over the past 6–7 months have been sold, and the police are attempting to trace them. Authorities have assured that if any concrete evidence of online gaming emerges, it will be thoroughly investigated.

This heartbreaking incident raises questions about the potential dangers of excessive digital exposure and underscores the importance of monitoring children’s mental health and emotional well-being. The full truth of the case will only come to light once the police investigation is complete.
