Laljit Bhullar Arrested in Suicide Case in Punjab

Police have arrested former Punjab minister Laljit Singh Bhullar in connection with the suicide case of Warehouse Corporation District Manager Gagandeep Randhawa. The arrest was made from Mandi Gobindgarh, and police officials are currently bringing him to Amritsar for further legal proceedings.

Following the arrest, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann shared a message on Instagram, emphasizing the state government’s zero-tolerance policy toward violations of law. He stated that the entire Punjab is like one family to him and strict action will be taken against anyone breaking the law, regardless of position, influence, or personal connections.

The Chief Minister added that lobbying, monetary influence, and recommendations have no place in the government’s functioning, stressing that accountability applies equally to all individuals.

Meanwhile, Laljit Bhullar issued a statement on social media denying rumors that he had fled. He wrote that he has always acted with faith in truth and justice and maintains complete trust in the country’s legal and judicial system.

Clarifying his position, Bhullar stated that he had not absconded and remained within Punjab. Expressing confidence in justice, he announced that he voluntarily surrendered before authorities in Mandi Gobindgarh.

Police officials are expected to continue the investigation as legal proceedings move forward in the high-profile case.
