A tragic road accident claimed the lives of five young men near Gohana in Haryana on Friday. The incident occurred on Baroda Road near Bhawad village when a speeding Scorpio car lost control and rammed into a tree.
According to initial reports, seven youths were travelling in the vehicle. They were returning home after attending a wedding ceremony in Bhawad village when the accident took place. The collision was so severe that chaos erupted at the scene immediately after the crash.
The deceased have been identified as Ankush, Sagar, Deepak and Sahil, residents of Kharwali village, and Golu, a resident of Ghuskani village. Two others — Ankit and Mohit — sustained serious injuries and were rushed to PGIMS Khanpur for treatment, where they are currently undergoing medical care.
Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and began investigating the incident. Preliminary findings suggest that overspeeding caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, leading to the fatal crash.
The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the surrounding villages, with families and residents mourning the untimely loss of the young lives.
