Pakistan-Backed Drug Smuggling Cartel Busted in Faridkot
In a carefully planned operation under the ongoing “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, Faridkot Police dismantled an international drug cartel connected to Pakistan-based smugglers by arresting two key drug traffickers and recovering 12.1 kg of heroin
Accused Arrested:
- Sukhpreet Singh (resident of village Jhariwala, Faridkot)
- Kadar Singh (resident of village Waan, Ferozepur)
Operation Details:
Senior Superintendent of Police Faridkot Dr. Pragya Jain stated that police teams from Sadar Faridkot Police Station and Golewala Police Post arrested both accused with 12.1 kg heroin near the house of Sukhpreet Singh in village Jhariwala when they were about to deliver the consignment
Modus Operandi:
Investigation revealed that Pakistan-based smugglers were using drones to deliver large heroin consignments into Indian territory, which was being further supplied to other traffickers by the arrested accused Common Ninja.
Official Statement:
Director General of Police Punjab Gaurav Yadav said the arrested traffickers were part of a larger cross-border network and had direct links with Pakistan-based smugglers, with the consignment smuggled across the international border
The police have registered a case and are conducting raids to arrest other members connected to Pakistan-based handlers. Further recoveries are expected in the coming days.
