The Dharam Dhwaja (religious flag) campaign has emerged as a major attraction for youth, with a public appeal urging everyone to become part of the spiritual movement, said Dr Sagar Muni Shastri.
Addressing devotees at the ancient Jai Krishnayeen Temple in Sri Amritsar Sahib, Dr Shastri emphasized that spirituality leads humanity toward happiness, while distancing from religion often results in distress. He said several initiatives have been launched to reconnect young people with spiritual values.
Under the slogan “Let us all take a step towards spirituality,” the temple has initiated various religious activities, including the symbolic hoisting of the Dharam Dhwaja. As part of the campaign, a religious flag representing the Jai Krishnayeen tradition is being installed at the homes of devotees.
Dr Shastri, Director of the temple, stated that saints guide society through innovative ways that help householders attain Dharma (righteousness), Artha (prosperity), Kama (desire) and Moksha (liberation). He added that spiritual education plays a vital role in shaping the younger generation and instilling moral values.
During the event, the ancient idol at the temple was ceremonially anointed, and fifteen chapters of the Bhagavad Gita were recited. Devotees from India and abroad reportedly participated enthusiastically in the campaign.
Following the flag-hoisting ceremony, food donation (langar) and religious rituals were conducted. Several devotees, including Kanika Abrol, Murli, Sham, Beenu Abrol, Karamjit Singh and Arun Chauhan, were present at the programme.
The Dharam Dhwaja campaign aims to strengthen spiritual awareness and foster greater youth participation in religious and cultural traditions.
