Deputy CM Directs Early Completion of Flood Protection Wall at HRTC Workshop in Kullu

Flood Protection Wall Work Reviewed at Kullu HRTC Workshop

Kullu: Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri visited the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) workshop located along the Beas River in Kullu and interacted with workshop employees while reviewing infrastructure and safety arrangements.

During the visit, the Deputy Chief Minister directed officials to expedite the remaining construction work of the flood protection wall being built at the workshop premises. The project, aimed at strengthening infrastructure and reducing disaster risk, is being executed at a cost of ₹3.32 crore.

Agnihotri stated that due to the workshop’s proximity to the Beas River, it is essential to safeguard the facility from potential flood-related disasters. He instructed concerned departments to ensure that construction work is completed within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining high-quality standards to prevent damage during rising water levels.

He added that securing this strategically important workshop will not only protect infrastructure but also provide a safer and improved working environment for employees and strengthen transportation services in the region.

The Deputy Chief Minister also interacted with workshop staff and listened to their concerns and suggestions related to workplace safety, facility expansion, and operational improvements. Employees presented various demands, and Agnihotri assured them that their issues would be examined sympathetically and resolved at the earliest.

He further directed officials of the Jal Shakti Department to maintain coordination, quality, and speed in the implementation of the project.

District Congress President Ses Ram Azad, Manu Sharma, Jal Shakti Chief Engineer Upinder Vaidya, RTO Rajesh Bhandari, SC Jal Shakti Vinod Thakur, HRTC Regional Manager D.K. Narang, and other officials and dignitaries were present on the occasion.
