Crude Oil Prices Fall Sharply; Petrol-Diesel Rates Revised in Several Cities

Crude Oil Falls; Petrol-Diesel Prices Updated

Global crude oil prices have witnessed a sharp decline once again, bringing partial relief to fuel markets. Prices of Brent Crude dropped by nearly $2.5 in a single day, reflecting volatility in the international energy market. The impact of this fall is visible in the revised petrol and diesel rates released by government oil companies on Friday morning.

Over the past 24 hours, Brent Crude fell to $67.53 per barrel. Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) also declined by about $1.5 to $62.86 per barrel.

Fuel Prices in Major Cities

Despite fluctuations in several states, there has been no change in fuel prices in the four metropolitan cities, including Delhi and Mumbai. In Delhi, petrol is priced at ₹94.72 per litre, while diesel stands at ₹87.62 per litre.

However, prices have changed in other cities:

  • In Gurugram, petrol has decreased by 24 paise to ₹95.26 per litre, and diesel has fallen by 24 paise to ₹87.73 per liter.
  • In Jaipur, petrol has increased by 10 paise to ₹104.72 per litre, while diesel has gone up by 9 paise to ₹90.21 per liter.
  • In Patna, petrol prices have risen by 20 paise to ₹105.43 per litre, and diesel has climbed by 18 paise to ₹91.67 per liter.

While international crude prices have declined significantly, retail fuel prices continue to vary across states due to local taxes, VAT, and transportation costs. Consumers are advised to check daily updates issued by oil marketing companies before refuelling.
