Punjab politics has once again heated up following fresh speculation about the possible return of former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to the Indian National Congress. The discussion gained momentum after Punjab Congress in-charge Bhupesh Baghel made a significant statement regarding Captain’s comeback.
Bhupesh Baghel said that if Captain Amarinder Singh wishes to rejoin the Congress, the party can consider the matter. He clarified that the final decision would be taken by the party high command. Baghel also acknowledged Captain’s stature, stating that his role in Punjab politics cannot be ignored.
The statement comes at a time when the Congress is attempting to strengthen its political position in Punjab. Captain Amarinder Singh had earlier served as a senior Congress leader and Chief Minister but later parted ways with the party following internal differences.
