Bride Allegedly Drugs Family, Flees with Gold and Cash in Hathras Days After Marriage

Bride Flees with Gold in Hathras After Wedding

A shocking incident has surfaced from Hathras district in Uttar Pradesh, where a newly married woman allegedly drugged her in-laws and fled with cash and jewellery just days after her wedding.

According to reports, the incident took place in the Chandpa police station area. Monica, a resident of Parsara village, was married on February 21 to Sunil Kumar, a resident of Nai Ka Nagla Nai Basti under the Sadar police station area in Hathras. She arrived at her matrimonial home on February 22 amid celebrations.

However, trouble reportedly began on the very first night of the marriage. The groom, Sunil Kumar, alleged that Monica attacked him with a knife and warned him to stay away. Frightened, he slept separately and informed his family the next day. Despite attempts by family members to counsel the couple, the issue remained unresolved.

The situation escalated on the evening of February 25, when Monica allegedly prepared dinner for the entire family and served it affectionately. Shortly after consuming the meal, family members reportedly fell unconscious. Taking advantage of the situation, she is accused of fleeing with approximately ₹10 lakh worth of gold jewellery, ₹4–5 lakh worth of silver ornaments, and ₹18,000 in cash.

When Sunil Kumar woke up the next morning, he found the main gate open and his wife missing. The family, shocked by the incident, has approached the police, and an investigation is underway.

Authorities are examining all angles, including the possibility of a pre-planned conspiracy. Further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
