Panic spread across Punjab on Tuesday after several schools in Amritsar and Jalandhar, along with the District Court in Ferozepur, received bomb threat emails, prompting immediate action from authorities and security agencies.
The threats were reportedly sent via email to the concerned institutions, following which the administration launched emergency security measures to ensure public safety.
In Amritsar, Shri Ram Ashram Senior Secondary School was among the first institutions to respond after receiving the threat. Police teams rushed to the spot and the entire school campus was evacuated as a precautionary measure. Students were safely sent home with their parents. School authorities confirmed that the administration was immediately informed about the threatening email.
Similarly, in Jalandhar, DPS School, Mayor World School, and MGN School also received threatening emails. Security was tightened at these institutions, and surveillance was increased at sensitive locations across the city.
Meanwhile, the Ferozepur District Court was evacuated after receiving a similar threat earlier in the morning. As lawyers and staff arrived for routine work, evacuation orders were issued around 9:15 AM, leading to chaos within the court complex as everyone was asked to vacate the premises immediately.
Advocates Rohit Arora and Arshdeep Singh Randhawa stated that this was the second such threat received by the court within two months, creating an atmosphere of fear among the public and legal community.
Police and intelligence agencies are currently conducting a detailed investigation into the matter. Security has been intensified across Punjab, including Amritsar, Jalandhar, and Ferozepur, to prevent any potential threat and maintain public safety.
Authorities have urged citizens to remain calm while investigations continue.
