BJYM Protests Against Sukhu Government, Sunny Shukla Accuses Congress of Sheltering Criminals

BJYM Slams Sukhu government Over Crime, Stages Protests

The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has launched a strong protest against the Indian National Congress-led government in Himachal Pradesh, accusing it of providing shelter to criminals and damaging the state’s reputation.

State BJYM President Sunny Shukla on Thursday issued a sharp warning to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, alleging that the government is compromising the dignity of Himachal Pradesh to please the “Delhi leadership” of Congress.

Protests Across Four Parliamentary Constituencies

BJYM organized massive protests across all four parliamentary constituencies of the state, including Solan, Palampur, Hamirpur, and Mandi.

Party workers took to the streets, raising slogans against the state government and accusing it of promoting “mafia raj” in the state. The protests aimed to send a message that the youth of Himachal will not remain silent over what they described as rising crime and political interference in law enforcement.

Allegations of Political Protection to Criminals

Sunny Shukla alleged that individuals accused of conspiring against the country were given “state protection” and questioned under whose instructions they were allegedly provided security and sheltered in areas like Rohru and Shimla.

He further claimed that the politicisation of the police force has weakened law enforcement in the state. According to him, incidents of gun culture and mafia activity have increased, citing a 20% rise in crime as proof of administrative failure.

Warning of Intensified Agitation

Calling the protest just the beginning, Shukla warned that if the government fails to stop providing protection to criminals and politicising the police, BJYM will escalate its agitation, including laying siege to the state secretariat.

The Congress government has not yet issued an official response to the allegations.

The political confrontation is expected to intensify in the coming days as opposition parties step up their attack against the Sukhu-led administration.
