A state-level meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party was held at the district BJP office in Sundernagar, where BJP MP and former Madhya Pradesh BJP president Vishnu Dutt Sharma attended as the chief guest. The meeting was chaired by Himachal BJP president Rajeev Bindal.
Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, along with senior party leaders Siddharthan, Sanjeev Katwal, and Payal Vaidya, were also present.
Corruption-Free Governance and Direct Benefit Transfer
Addressing party workers, Vishnu Dutt Sharma stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government has ensured transparency in governance and eliminated corruption at its roots. He emphasized that government scheme benefits are now directly transferred to beneficiaries’ bank accounts, ending the earlier system of leakages.
He added that BJP governments focus on real welfare rather than slogans, claiming that crores of people have been lifted above the poverty line through schemes implemented with the spirit of Antyodaya.
Referring to ideological foundations, Sharma said the party draws inspiration from leaders like Syama Prasad Mukherjee and Deendayal Upadhyaya, whose principles of nationalism and service continue to guide the organization.
National Unity and Article 370
On national integration, he described the abrogation of Article 370 as a historic decision that strengthened the unity and integrity of the nation. He accused the Congress party of attempting to create a false narrative against BJP leadership despite visible development outcomes on the ground.
Infrastructure Milestones in Himachal
Highlighting infrastructure growth, Sharma said that between 2014 and 2025, approximately 1,364 kilometers of national highways have been constructed or upgraded in Himachal Pradesh under central government schemes, boosting connectivity, tourism, and economic activity in hilly regions.
He also referred to the Atal Tunnel, inaugurated in 2020, describing it as a 9.02-kilometer world-class tunnel that provides all-weather connectivity to Lahaul-Spiti, reduces travel time, and ends winter isolation. He termed it a historic example of infrastructure development in the Himalayan region.
BJP’s Ideological Strength
In his address, Rajeev Bindal said that BJP is a cadre-based political party guided by the philosophy of Integral Humanism propounded by Deendayal Upadhyaya. He stated that the party’s ideological and organizational strength rests on its “Panch Nishthas” — nationalism and national unity, democracy, cultural values, Antyodaya, and clean and transparent public life.
He asserted that adherence to these five core commitments has helped BJP emerge as the world’s largest political party and a model of good governance.
