BJP Punjab Working President Ashwani Sharma expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for approving ₹1,463.95 crore for the Tricity Ring Road Project.
The project includes the construction of a six-lane greenfield spur on National Highway 205A, connecting the Ambala-Chandigarh section to the Zirakpur bypass. This major infrastructure initiative is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in the Tricity region, including Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula.
Ashwani Sharma stated that the project will not only improve traffic flow but also boost economic activities in the region. He highlighted that better road connectivity will ensure smoother and faster travel, especially towards Himachal Pradesh, including Shimla.
He further added that the project will enhance road safety and help reduce pollution levels, making life more convenient for residents. Calling it a world-class infrastructure initiative, Sharma said the project will accelerate Punjab’s development.
He also emphasized that with a “double-engine” government, development in the state will gain further momentum, paving the way for a “Viksit Punjab.”
