Arunachal Mountaineer Kabak Yano Conquers South America’s Highest Peak

Indian mountaineer Kabak Yano from Arunachal Pradesh has summited Mount Aconcagua (22,831 feet) in Argentina, advancing her 7-Summit Expedition.

Milestone Achievement

The 27-year-old reached the Western Hemisphere’s tallest peak, showcasing endurance and grit in her quest to climb the highest mountains across all seven continents.

Governor’s Praise

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. Gen. K.T. Parnaik (Retd.) hailed Yano’s “indomitable spirit,” calling it inspiration for state youth. He flagged off her journey from Itanagar on July 28, 2025, with Sports Minister Kento Jini present.

Expedition Progress

An Everest summiteer, Yano previously scaled Kilimanjaro (Aug 4, 2025) and Elbrus (Aug 16, 2025). Remaining peaks: Denali, Vinson Massif, Puncak Jaya or Kosciuszko.
