Acting on the directions of Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar (IPS), the Amritsar Commissionerate Police conducted special patrols and checking drives across sensitive areas of the city to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.
Teams from the local police and the Special Operations Group (SOG) carried out extensive vehicle checking and patrolling operations in both inner-city and outer areas. During the drive, police personnel questioned individuals found roaming without valid reasons and verified their identities.
A special search operation was also conducted at the city bus stand under the supervision of Inspector Amandeep Kaur, Station House Officer of Police Station A Division, along with the police team.
In addition, checking operations were intensified around religious places to prevent any untoward incidents and enhance security arrangements.
The police have appealed to the public to immediately report any suspicious person or illegal activity in their area. Authorities assured that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
The Amritsar Commissionerate Police reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens and stated that police teams remain alert and operational round the clock.
