Acting under strict directions to crack down on drug traffickers, district police have intensified their anti-narcotics drive, leading to the arrest of accused persons in separate operations.
Police teams from Beas and Jandiala stations conducted coordinated patrol operations and seized a significant quantity of narcotic tablets.
According to officials, a patrol team from Beas Police Station apprehended a युवक near Butala village on suspicion during routine checking. Upon search, 220 intoxicant tablets were recovered from his possession. During further investigation, his associate Arshdeep Singh was also arrested.
A case (FIR No. 40 dated 15-02-2026) has been registered under Sections 22, 27A, 29, and 61-85 of the NDPS Act at Beas Police Station.
In a separate operation, a patrol team from Jandiala Police Station arrested Gurlaal Singh and Satnam Singh during checking and recovered 95 narcotic tablets from their possession. A case (FIR No. 37 dated 15-02-2026) has been registered under the same sections of the NDPS Act.
Police officials stated that in both cases, forward and backward linkages of the accused are being thoroughly investigated. Authorities have emphasized that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found involved in drug trafficking networks.
The ongoing drive reflects the district police’s firm commitment to curbing the menace of narcotics and dismantling supply chains operating in the region.
