Renowned Punjabi actor and singer Ammy Virk has expressed deep concern after his family became stranded in Dubai amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
According to reports, Ammy Virk spoke over the phone with Aam Aadmi Party Punjab General Secretary Baltej Pannu, seeking assistance regarding the safety of his family members in the United Arab Emirates.
During the conversation, the actor informed Pannu that his daughter, wife, and sisters are currently in Dubai and are unable to return due to widespread flight disruptions. In response, Pannu assured him that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann would personally intervene and provide all possible assistance.
The situation has arisen after recent joint strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran, which reportedly led to the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The ongoing conflict has severely impacted air travel across the Middle East.
On Sunday alone, nearly 350 international flights were cancelled, leaving several Indian passengers stranded in Dubai and other Gulf countries. The escalating war-like situation has triggered widespread fear among travelers, many of whom are uncertain about when they will be able to return home safely.
Apart from Ammy Virk’s family, numerous Indian citizens are reportedly stuck due to airspace closures and flight suspensions caused by the Iran conflict.
As tensions continue to rise, affected families are urging authorities to facilitate safe evacuation and restore normal flight operations at the earliest.
