Amit Shah Releases BJP Manifesto for West Bengal Polls, Promises Major Reforms

Amit Shah Unveils BJP West Bengal Election Manifesto

Kolkata: The Bharatiya Janata Party has officially released its election manifesto for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections in West Bengal. The manifesto was unveiled by Union Home Minister Amit Shah at a public event.

Speaking on the occasion, Amit Shah launched a sharp attack on the ruling government, stating that the past 15 years have been “difficult and fearful” for the people of West Bengal. He alleged that the state’s citizens had initially voted for change, expecting development and freedom from previous regimes, but later became disappointed due to rising concerns over governance, crime, and insecurity.

He further claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party has played the role of a strong and constructive opposition in the state and highlighted the development model of the central government led by Narendra Modi as an example of governance for the nation.

The BJP manifesto outlines a wide range of promises focusing on governance reform, welfare schemes, economic development, and law and order.

Key highlights of the manifesto include:

  • Strict action on infiltration: A zero-tolerance policy with “detect, delete and deport” measures.
  • Government employees’ benefits: Dearness allowance assurance and implementation of the 7th Pay Commission within 45 days.
  • Women welfare scheme: ₹3,000 monthly financial assistance to eligible women.
  • Healthcare expansion: Inclusion of Ayushman Bharat and free screening programs for women.
  • Uniform Civil Code (UCC): Proposal to implement UCC within six months in the state.
  • Employment generation: Target of 10 million jobs through industries and startups.
  • Monthly support for unemployed youth: ₹3,000 assistance scheme.
  • White papers on corruption and governance: Investigation into alleged corruption and law & order issues.
  • Special security measures: Dedicated police units for women safety and anti-violence monitoring.
  • Farmer support: Guaranteed fair prices for crops including rice, potatoes, and mangoes.
  • Infrastructure & education: Plans to establish AIIMS, IIT, IIM, and fashion institutes in North Bengal.
  • Industrial revival: Focus on tea gardens, jute industry modernization, and export promotion.

The BJP also announced that it will release white papers on corruption and law and order in the state, claiming these will expose governance failures over the past 15 years.

Shah stated that the manifesto is a “roadmap for development and trust,” and expressed confidence that the people of West Bengal would give the party an opportunity to govern in the upcoming elections.
