Ambala Cantt electricity department took action against 241 individuals for power theft, registering FIRs following inspections of nearly 3,000 connections from April to November.

The department conducted a special drive during peak summer and winter seasons when theft spikes to cut bills, causing revenue losses. Out of checked connections, these 241 defaulters were identified through targeted checks.
Strict Measures
XEN Ambala Cantt explained first-time offenders face fines, repeat cases lead to FIRs, and persistent violators risk permanent disconnection. The department vows ongoing crackdowns to deter electricity pilferage and ensure fair usage.
