NCC Amritsar Honors Cadets, Starts Training Camp

Amritsar: The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Group Amritsar organized a special felicitation ceremony to honor cadets who delivered outstanding performances in various group, directorate, and national-level activities during 2025.

The event was graced by Group Commander Brigadier Kulbir Singh as the chief guest. His presence inspired cadets and staff alike. Addressing the gathering, he praised the dedication, discipline, and hard work of the cadets, emphasizing that NCC training not only builds leadership but also fosters character and a strong sense of responsibility toward the nation.

He encouraged cadets to strive for excellence, face challenges with confidence, and uphold NCC’s core values of “Unity and Discipline.” He highlighted that habits developed during NCC training lay the foundation for success in all walks of life.

During the ceremony, more than 80 cadets from various districts of Punjab, including border areas, were honored after successfully clearing a rigorous and competitive selection process. Over one lakh cadets from eight NCC groups under the NCC Directorate Punjab Haryana Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh had participated in the selection.

Only a select few earned the opportunity to represent at prestigious national-level camps such as the Republic Day Camp, Prime Minister’s Rally, All India Thal Sainik Camp, Naval Camp, Air Force Camp, and various adventure courses and sports events. Their achievements reflect consistent hard work, excellence, and strong leadership qualities.

Alongside the felicitation ceremony, the Combined Annual Training Camp of 9 Punjab Battalion NCC was also inaugurated. The camp is being held from April 9 to April 18, 2026, at ITI Ramtirath, where over 650 cadets from border districts of Punjab are participating.

During the camp, cadets will receive intensive training in multiple domains including disaster management by National Disaster Response Force, basics of nuclear energy by Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited, weapon training and firing practice, cyber and social security awareness, fire safety, traffic control, drone technology, skill development, and leadership enhancement.

The primary objective of the camp is to equip cadets with practical knowledge, discipline, and resilience, enabling them to face real-life challenges and emerge as responsible citizens. The felicitation ceremony at the beginning of the camp served as a strong source of motivation, encouraging participants to aim higher and achieve excellence.
