Jagraon Boat Victims Cremated, CM Bhagwant Mann Visits

The victims of the recent tragic boat accident in Vrindavan were cremated today at the local cremation ground on Dalla Road in Jagraon. The heartbreaking incident has left the entire region in deep mourning, with thousands of residents attending the last rites to pay their respects.

The accident occurred when a group of pilgrims from Punjab met with a fatal mishap during a religious journey, resulting in multiple casualties. The tragedy has triggered widespread grief across the state.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited Jagraon to meet the bereaved families and expressed his condolences. He was accompanied by several senior leaders including Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, MLAs Madan Lal Bagga, Ashok Parashar Pappi, and Sarabjit Kaur Manuke, along with AAP leader Gopi Sharma.

The Chief Minister stated that all the deceased pilgrims were from closely related families who had been visiting Vrindavan annually for the past several years. The accident claimed 10 lives, including Kavita Bahl, her son Madhur Bahl, Charanjit Singh, his wife Pinky, and youth Ishan Kataria.

He further informed that the body of Manik Tandon has been recovered, while search operations are still underway for four missing individuals.

The Punjab government has assured full administrative support and financial assistance to the affected families. Rescue teams continue their operations as authorities work to locate the remaining missing pilgrims.
