In Mandi District, Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan conducted a surprise inspection of the remote Nihri tehsil in the Sundernagar subdivision. During the visit, he reviewed revenue records in detail and instructed revenue officials to ensure the speedy disposal of pending cases.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that the state government is giving top priority to the swift resolution of revenue matters. He highlighted that under the initiative of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, revenue Lok Adalats are being organized across the state to provide timely relief to citizens. He directed revenue officials to implement government instructions at the grassroots level with full dedication so that people can benefit from the initiative without delay.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner examined revenue records file by file. He also reviewed the pending cases in the Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar courts. In the Tehsildar court, one partition case, three demarcation cases, and two correction cases were found pending. In the Naib Tehsildar court, nine partition cases, twelve demarcation cases, and seven correction cases were pending. The Deputy Commissioner instructed that demarcation and correction cases must be resolved by 30 April 2026.
He also directed the Sub-Divisional Magistrate to transfer excess pending cases from the Naib Tehsildar court to the Tehsildar court for faster resolution. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that all revenue officials must work with diligence, commitment, and responsibility to ensure that citizens do not face unnecessary delays in revenue matters.
Officials present on the occasion included Sub-Divisional Magistrate Amar Negi, District Revenue Officer Harish Sharma, and other revenue staff from Nihri Tehsil.
